about the artist

Thayne is an artist, photographer, film-maker, designer, educator and proprietor. He is an alum of Art Center College of Design. He has received both his Masters and Bachelors of Fine Art. He began his artistic career studying traditional art and design at Ricks College where he received his Associates in Arts and Sciences.

Thayne has a strong and comprehensive background in the visual arts. Thayne has extensive technical skills in several visual disciplines in addition to developing critical thinking about media and visual culture.

Thayne has taught figure drawing and human anatomical sculpture at California State University, Los Angeles, creative software at Art Center College of Design, Adobe Photoshop and web design at Glendale Community College in southern California.

Like many, Thayne's interest in drawing and painting began at a young age. He grew up with a desire to be an artist and to receive a great education.

His fine art might be described as figurative expressionism. He also enjoys creating concept art, sci-fi and fantasy imagery.

Thayne has also done a variety of illustrations. Some of his clients include, the Los Angeles Zoo.

Thayne received an MFA in film directing. He currently is directing (and writing) an episodic project titled, "Christian." He also has been an Art Director and Cinematographer for a tv pilot, produced by Troy Hinckley and directed by Rob Diamond; "Justin Time."

photography
Thayne has operated a portrait photography studio in Rexburg, Idaho. His responsibilities included: photo shoots (portrait & commercial), retouching, designing, advertising, marketing, general business, and much more.

Prior to his experience in the portrait photography world, he worked for a commercial photographer based in Los Angeles, assisting in shoots for automobiles, models and products.

Thayne has been awarded the Kodak Award for Photographic Excellence in Digital Imaging and the Professional Photographers of Idaho Award for First Place in Electronic Imaging.

design
Thayne's design experience began at Ricks College. For more than a decade, he has designed logos, web sites and a variety of printed materials.
